Diamondback Fitness 910Sr Recumbent Exercise Bike Review

Diamondback Fitness 910Sr Recumbent Exercise Bike
Average Reviews:

Recumbent exercise bikes are much less common than their upright versions so there are fewer makes and models to choose from. Most of them were built by gym equipment manufacturers for commercial gym use. They have heavy duty frames, seat/back adjustments and are priced out of the range most families and cycling enthusiasts can afford. Diamondback's 910Sr is the exception. It was designed by a bicycle manufacturer for the home market and is priced accordingly.
The 910Sr comes partially assembled. The owners manual contains instructions and illustrations to help you complete the job. Hardware is neatly packaged and clearly labeled. I'm fairly handy with tools but it still took me some two hours. It could have gone faster but the massive frame (150 lbs) had to be carefully wrestled into positions that made access to attachment points convenient. On the up side, that same massive powder-coated frame makes the 910Sr feel extremely stable. There is no wobble or flex once everything is tightened. It is longer and taller than most recumbents. The seat and backrest are adjustable in predetermined increments. If there will be more than one rider, the should each check how comfortable this arrangement feels.
Pedaling is quiet and smooth. Toe straps make it easy to set and maintain a comfortable foot position. Console controls are well laid out giving ample feedback about the workout. With dozens of resistance levels and many pre-programmed rides, the 910Sr provides a wide workout range. The maximum resistance setting will probably challenge all but the most fit weekend athletes.
At $899, the Diamondback 910Sr is a very good machine at a very good price. Check with local merchants for even better deals. I took home a unit in 24 hrs and also saved 20% on the price.

Diamondback Wildwood Classic Men's Sport Comfort Bike (2011 Model, 26-Inch Wheels) Review

After years of wasting money on cheap $119.99 bikes from your local big chain stores I finally decided I had enough rough riding & spent a few extra bucks on the Diamondback Wildwood. Day 1 review is awesome! This is the lightest bike I ever owned, it is very stable and it rides as smooth as a lincoln town car. I swear, even if you have a good road bike to go out riding with your friends, this is a great second bike for enjoying local family fun time. I mostly chose the bike myself because it is a cross between a road bike & a mountain bike, so I can ride the streets in my neighborhood & cut through the parks with ease as well. My wife loved it so much we ended up buying her the diamondback serene citi bike, http://www.amazon.com/Diamondback-Classic-Comfort-26-Inch-15-Inch/dp/B002LFTSGE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1283717023&sr=8-2which is the womens equivelant to the mens wildwood. Great 1st bike, 1st bike in years to start again or Great second bike for the serious biker.

Cruise around town in relaxed style with the Diamondback Wildwood Classic men's comfort bike. The Wildwood Classic offers many of the same comforts and features as the Wildwood Deluxe, but with a more comfortable price tag. The Wildwood Classic is equipped with a heat-treated aluminum frame with Laid Back Comfort (LBC) geometry, a 50mm comfort suspension fork, seven-speed twist shifters, and a DB comfort saddle with super-soft foam. It also offers a few upgrades from the Diamondback Wildwood Citi bike, including compact gearing, puncture-resistant tires, and BioLogic dual-density comfort grips. Add the features together and you have a terrific bike for rides to the grocery store or casual commutes.
About Diamondback's LBC Geometry During the development of LBC Geometry, Diamondback engineers were faced with the challenge of making the comfort bike more comfortable and easier to use without compromising its handling and maneuverability. They started by tilting the seat tube back. Way back. This allows the rider to be seated further behind the bottom bracket and in a lower position, which not only makes for a more stable and comfortable ride, but also allows for full leg extension to the pedals. At the same time, the design still keeps the rider seated low enough on the bike that he or she can quickly and easily plant both feet firmly on the ground. The result is happier knees and much easier mounting and dismounting.
Once the rider's ideal position was determined, the engineers recognized two places they could improve the handling of the bike by not changing anything at all. Whereas other companies have been tempted to lengthen the chainstays and tilt the head tube back, Diamondback engineers opted for another approach, leaving the length of the rear end alone to maintain superior shifting performance and stable handling. Then they designed a new comfort handlebar with more back sweep, helping bring the handle grips within reach. Because the angle and location of the head tube remains unchanged, Diamondback didn't compromise the performance of the bike.

Diamondback RM Boys Bike Review

Diamondback RM Boys Bike
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The bike comes with NO installation instructions, completely disassembled. My dad and I spent over an hour trying to put the pieces together and came up with something that wasn't workable. I took it to a local bike shop so I could pay for assembly. GUEST WHAT! They had an identical bike for about the same price!
This is a nice, high quality bike - but DO NOT buy it online. It is not intended to be purchased by a consumer - but is sold by the manufacturer for bike shops! It requires special assembly tools and good technical knowledge of bicycles. There is no customer support from DiamondBack - it is not a consumer-direct business! You'll be stuck with a construction set and will be paying $30-$50 to a bike shop in the end.

This green machine has everything your little one needs to have fun:the steel frame and fork will take a lickin' that only a child can truly master and keep on tickin', the training wheels allow a child to become comfortable pedaling and braking without falling over, and the moto fender set screams get me dirty. The only question to ask is - how long will this bike stay clean?

Diamondback Vital Two Women's Sport Hybrid Bike (2011 Model, 700c Wheels) Review

Diamondback Vital Two Women's Sport Hybrid Bike (2011 Model, 700c Wheels)

Amazon offers this bike for around $250 less than my local bike shop. Since I've always had great results with Amazon, I purchased this from them rather than the brick and mortar store with the very friendly bike experts who are always willing to help me.
This bike is really excellent quality, especially for the price. The shifters, derailers, wheels, hubs and frame are all very nice quality. They are not the very best, but who except a professional rider or bike snob would pay those whacko prices. The only component on the bike that is not as good are the pedals, which are plastic and a little slick. I wouldn't want to chug up a hill wearing wet tennis shoes with these pedals.
I bought this bike as a gift for my buddy's birthday. However, once the lady of the house saw it and rode it down the street and back, It was decided she is getting this one, and my buddy is getting a different bike. I took this bike for a short ride myself and it handles beautifully. It is very comfortable and responsive. I've never used rapid fire shifters before, but got used to them in just a few minutes. The shifters and derailers shift very smoothly. All of our riding is recreational on trails and bike paths. So, the gearing of this bike; which is not designed to pull any stumps out of the ground, or pass any semis on the interstate; meets our needs perfectly. The reason she really likes this bike is the style of the frame which is much easier getting on and off than a men's style with a higher top bar. She can't kick quite as high as she did with the Rocketts 40 years ago.
I'd rate ths bike as five star if it weren't for the poor packaging. Although most of the frame had cardboard taped around the tubes to protect the paint, the wheels and seat with post were just placed loosley in the box along side the frame. When I opened the box, I found the rear wheel was jammed around the crank arm. This left some pretty deep gouges on the crank and really bent the rear wheel significantly out of true. Would it kill them to include a chunk of styrofoam or a tie-strap?
So, now I have to remove the tire and spend a couple of hours truing the wheel, or take it to the bike shop and spend $50 to get it done. If you're not handy with bikes, or can afford the extra cost, a local purchase may be a better alternative.

Diamondback Kids' Mini Viper BMX Bike Review

Diamondback Kids' Mini Viper BMX Bike
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Very impressed with the quality; its immediately clear coming out of the box that this is not a cheaply made bike. Even the training wheels are made from solid rubber and metal. Only had two issues. First, there were no assembly instructions in the box (although not really much to assemble; i.e., front wheel, pedals, handle bars, training wheels and seat). There was an owners manual with the bike (how to ride, safety instructions, adjustments, etc.) but nothing specific to this actual bike or its assembly. And secondly, the seat covering was trimmed short on a small spot in the back so that a couple of staples were not making any contact with the internal hard frame in the seat -- albiet minor, I would still consider this a defect in workmanship and might call the company about sending me a replacement. All considered though, we are delighted with the bike and trust that it will easily be in use for many years to come. Very highly recommend!!!
